Space

Seen from space the most striking feature of the Earth is the predominance of white clouds in its atmosphere.

At any one time about half of the planet is shrouded in these white vortices. The clouds indicate humidity in the troposphere, 5 to 10km above the Earth's surface.

The large amount of water covering the planet is also very much in evidence, giving it a blue appearance in the gaps of cloud.
